Danalogue (UK)

Having recently toured the world as a founding member of the powerful, revered and musically unclassifiable trio The Comet Is Coming (whose three albums he produced and mixed), Dan Leavers aka Danalogue now presents his debut solo album, Teleportation Programme, on which he plays all of the instruments, and builds a long-imagined sonic world which journey’s through deep cosmic ambience and propulsive dancefl oor dreamscapes.

Danalogue’s productions are inspired by the rogue studio experimentalism of Joe Meek, who he resonates with in a constant search for the ethereal sound that will make a new world. He references the Kosmische records of 1970s Germany, with their hypnotic, world building synth laden process, often exploratory, improvisational, edited and DIY, reflecting their disillusionment at the hegemony of their time. He finds kinship with synth pioneers such as Isao Tomita, Wendy Carlos, Laurie Spiegel, Mort Garson, and Terry Riley, who each created their own ‘orchestra’ of multi-layered synths.
